SmarterMail 1.x was released in 2003 and revolutionized the mail server industry by offering the first 100% web-based mail server, allowing mail administrators to work from a desktop browser. At the time, our competitors only offered application-based management that required you to remote into the mail server.

While our competitors still have 20 year old interfaces, SmarterMail 16.x is re-imagining mail administration using the latest web-based technologies, allowing mail administrators to monitor and manage all aspects of their mail servers on desktops, tablets and mobile phones!

As you can see, SmarterMail 16.x isolates monitoring and management from setup and configuration. Because we manage mail servers ourselves, we realize how important it is to separate the functionality so that a mail administrators can quickly take actions on and/or prevent intrusions and other common issues they face. Combine the ability to do all this from mobile phones and tablets, and we have dramatically simplified, and improved, the life of a mail administrator!

SmarterMail 16.x dramatically simplifies the setup and configuration of a mail server. Even though SmarterMail is the easiest mail server to configure, there was plenty of room for improvement after 10 years of added features and functionality. We think mail administrators are going to be incredibly excited by how simple it will be to get things done.

Antispam and antivirus areas have been greatly simplified with the ability to extend functionality in future versions. Over the last 10 years many methods of combating SPAM have changed, and while SmarterMail has adapted, this area remains as powerful as ever: the features and actions you are used to using are still there, they're just easier to find and manage. However, you will find a revised approach to our spam and virus protection as well as a default list of RBL's PLUS the ability to add your own.

Reporting has been completely revised to offer mail administrators, domain administrators and users more information in incredible looking dashboards and reports. No other email server gives you so much information, not to mention presenting it in an easy-to-understand format. SmarterMail users have all the information they need to make decisions on how best to manage and maintain their email servers.

Here is where SmarterMail 16.x really EXCELS! How about a dashboard of your Spool with the ability to manage and perform actions on individual emails and groups of emails? What about blocking a user on your server immediately because you see them SPAMMING! These actions, and so many more are available in SmarterMail 16.x. Mail administrators can access any account on their SmarterMail server, instantly, easily, and from anywhere within the SmarterMail interface, using real-time impersonation. While SmarterMail always offered impersonation, now it's right at your fingertips. Impersonation is an effective way to troubleshoot problematic users, review sent messages to put a stop to potential spammers, check an account's settings and much more. No other email server makes it so easy to quickly handle account issues.
