Important Notes

There are several important release notes to be aware of before upgrading to this version.

  • IMPORTANT: SmarterStats 11 now requires Microsoft .NET 4.5. This prevents SmarterStats from running on Windows Server 2003. (11.0.5932)
  • IMPORTANT: Build 11.3.6480 resolves an XSS vulnerability. It is recommended to update to this version or higher. (11.3.6480)

Version 11.3.6480 (Sep 28, 2017)

  • IMPORTANT: Build 11.3.6480 resolves an XSS vulnerability. It is recommended to update to this version or higher.
  • Fixed: Logs not saving to correct location.
  • Fixed: Resolved an issue that caused scheduled email reports to sometimes fail to send.
  • Fixed: When a directory does not exist on an FTP server, SmarterStats will now properly close the connection.

Version 11.3.6347 (May 18, 2017)

  • Added: Support for RFC 7239 for forwarded IP Addresses.
  • Changed: New installations will now default Site Tuning and SEO site settings to off.
  • Changed: Site Tuning will no longer scan external links at google.com (and international variants) and bing.com, to avoid the server getting rate limited.
  • Fixed: Connections to SFTP servers using password only authentication (no public key) now work properly.
  • Fixed: If a custom report contains a geographic report without a chart, it can no longer show an error if emailed.
  • Fixed: Test button now works when adding a log source of SFTP or FTPS.
  • Fixed: When enabling SSL within the SMTP settings, port 587 is used by default for SSL connections.
  • Fixed: Wizard now shows errors and success correctly.

  • Fixed: ActivateLicenseKey Web Service call now works as expected.
  • Fixed: An issue that caused daily reporting to error.
  • Fixed: Filter sets are applied to Authenticated Users.
  • Fixed: FTP Logs now show in the web interface as expected.

Version 11.1.6004 (Jun 9, 2016)

  • Added: Log Processing Rules now includes an option to exclude a Request URI.
  • Changed: Administrators are now notified if a site delete is unsuccessful.
  • Fixed: An issue that prevented SmarterStats from loading properly in rare cases.
  • Fixed: An issue that prevented UNC paths from being used for SmarterLogs storage locations.
  • Fixed: An issue where adding duplicate items was throwing an exception.
  • Fixed: An issue where Server Health Reports were not properly loading.
  • Fixed: Result Codes reports now display the correct report names.

  • Changed: Visitor Trend Report now properly shows correct headers in chart.
  • Changed: “Dynamic Pages” are now referenced as “Query Variables”.
  • Changed: “Import Filters” are now referenced as “Log Importing Rules”.
  • Efficiency: Better handling of XML files regarding reading and writing to the files.
  • Efficiency: Improved logging throughout SmarterStats.
  • Fixed: Date pickers now properly show the correct dates for browsers set to English-South Africa.
  • Fixed: Scheduled reports now properly show the date ranges that do not include the current day in the report.
