Applies to: SmarterMail (all versions) 

1. Run the installer on your mail server
2. Select  "I will install OfficeScan Server on this computer"
3. The installer scans for any viruses
4. Clean/Quarantine/Delete any that it finds
5. Select "Install OfficeScan server on the IIS server"
6. Server Information setup comes up
7. Use either the hostname of the server or IP
8. Port settings can remain the same, unless those ports are in use. The installer will let you know if they are.
9. Proxy Settings
10. If you need a proxy to connect to the internet, enter it here.
11. If you don't know if you have a proxy, you probably don't
12. Select a password
13. Component Selection
14. Select Install Client protections to target OfficeScan server
15. World Virus Tracking
16. choose if you want to participate.
17. Activation
18. Register to get your activation code, if you already have the activation codes, skip the register step
19. Enter your activation codes
20. Firewall
21. Uncheck the firewall option. Chances are you already have a firewall and this is unneccesary and may break your internet settings
22. Installation Path
23. Set path to whatever you desire
24. The port is pretty random and should not conflict with anything, but the installer will let you know if it does.
25. Client Alert Messages
26. Set these to your preference
27. Client security
28. Recommended to leave this as Normal
29. Setup Complete
30. Open the OfficeScan Web Console
31. Allow any certificates, install any ActiveX controls
