How To - Reset the administrator password in SmarterTrack

Applies to: SmarterTrack 3.x         

In order to reset the primary administrator password in SmarterTrack 3.x, follow the instructions below.  Note, the procedure requires access to the file system where SmarterTrack is installed.

  1. Browse to the file ..\SmarterTrack\App_Data\Config\SystemSettings.xml using Windows Explorer.
  2. Make a backup copy of that file.
  3. Right-click on SystemSettings.xml and choose Open With -> Notepad
  4. Find the section that looks like this:
    <AdminUserName>...</AdminUserName>
    <AdminPasswordEnc>....</AdminPasswordEnc>
  5. Delete these two lines and save the file.
  6. Restart IIS

You should now be able to log in to SmarterTicket by using the following:

Username: admin
Password: admin
