It is possible to limit new ticket submission to only Registered Users, and further only allow them to submit new tickets through the Web Interface.
You can do this by adjusting a couple of configuration settings for a particular Department.
- Log into SmarterTrack as a System Administrator.
- Click on Settings
- Click on System Settings
- Click on Departments
- In the window on the right, double-click on the Department you want to configure.
- Click the Ticket tab
- Enable these two settings
- Click Tickets can be started in this department through Web interface.
- Click Tickets can only be started by users who have verified their email address.
- Change the Ticket Require Role to Registered Users.
- Click the POP tab
- Click Enable POP Ticket Importing.
- Uncheck Allow new Tickets to be submitted through POP.
- Click Save
You have now configured a department with the following configuration:
- The user must have verified their email address.
- The user must be registered.
- Tickets can be submitted by these users via the Web Interface.
- Ticket responses can be downloaded via POP3.
- New tickets cannot be submitted via POP3.
