How To - Reset the administrator password in SmarterTicket

Applies to: SmarterTicket 2.x         

To reset the primary administrator password in SmarterTicket 2.x, follow the instructions below.  Note, the procedure requires access to the file system where SmarterTicket is installed.

  1. Browse to the file ..\SmarterTicket\Config\SystemSettings.xml using Windows Explorer.
  2. Make a backup copy of that file
  3. Right-click on SystemSettings.xml and choose Open With -> Notepad
  4. Find the section that looks like this:
    <AdminPasswordEnc>....</AdminPasswordEnc>
  5. Delete this line and save the file
  6. Upload the file back to the server in the same location

You should now be able to log in to SmarterTicket by using the following:

Username: admin
Password: admin
