Applies to: SmarterStats (all versions)

Follow these steps to move SmarterStats to a new server:

1. Stop the SmarterStats service on the old server.
2. Back up the following items:
   1. All .xml files in C:\program files\smartertools\smarterstats\mrs\config\
   2. All .xml files in C:\program files\smartertools\smarterstats\mrs\config\Sites\
   3. The folder C:\SmarterLogs
3. Install and activate SmarterStats on the new server. (Make sure you are installing the correct version.) If activation fails, go to www.smartertools.com/portal and log in using your email address and password. Then click on Account Management and click Licenses to make sure there are still activations available. If not, click the Reset button to reset the activation count.
4. Stop the SmarterStats service on the new server.
5. Restore the following items you backed up in Step 2 to the new server:       
   1. All .xml files in C:\program files\smartertools\smarterstats\mrs\config\
   2. All .xml files in C:\program files\smartertools\smarterstats\mrs\config\Sites\
   3. The folder C:\SmarterLogs
6. Start the SmarterStats service.
