I was on Imail for 5 years until they started getting ridiculse about the cost of the support contacts, I then tried MailEnable (which I still think is a good package) and being an Australian I felt very patriotic, however it couldnt handle the lack of spam control and I had jump back to Imail 6 and...

Are there any options for migrating from an iMail 8.05 installation that is using domain accounts to SM 5.x? The conversion tool says it will not work on domains. Is there anyway I can manually add the users accounts and transfer their mailbox data over to the new server? The server has one mail domain...

Greetings. We are in the process of moving from Imail to SmarterMail 4.3. The new SM4 server has had all our email accounts recreated from scratch, no conversion tool was used. However, some users were set with a generic password just to get their account added on the new server. To resolve this issue...

I converted a couple of IMail domains over to SmarterMail. IMail has a "root" account that has "postmaster" aliased to it. In IMail this account has a default password (which is known), but the account is disabled. When this account gets converted to SmarterMail it gets enabled. Being that these domains...

Ok, POP is now working for me. If you're gagging over a similar installation from h#&& where POP seems to be not working (or worse, causing your server to blow up), as stupid as it sounds, try a different NIC card, and NOT a Linksys LNE100TX. (This was on a Windows 2000 system with an AMD Sempron...

I am a new SM user, an admin, a little web and email ISP for about 60 companies. I've been using Imail for 10 years or so and just switched to SM for a number of reasons. At any rate, I feel like I know what I'm doing. But d*mn if I can get POP working. The web interface is working fine. SMTP is working...

Another question... I have a few clients who are set up to use the catchall alias (I know it's a bad idea!) In Imail, the alias is "nobody". Couldn't find it in the documentation... what is the alias called in SmarterMail?

Hmm. When I go to run the Imail conversion tool, I get the following message: .NET Framework Initialization Error To run this application, you first need to install one of the following versions of the .Net Framework: v2.0.50727 which would imply that I do indeed need v2. Can you elaborate?

Still planning on doing the migration this weekend, so expect a few more questions from me before then Was browsing through the forum this morning and saw a couple of things which confused me a bit. In one post, I saw a reference to .NET 1.1 being installed, while in the Imail conversion tool I see that...

I posted yesterday morning asking if the migration tool would ruin anything........no response from anyone. I called tech support and they said no, I read posts and techs are saying everything is ok to use the tool. Then when I stay around after hours to do the migration does it say this? "Running this...
