On bootup today, my Dell laptop said it could NOT login to the local client. It's never done this before.
I acknowledged it, and continued on.
Then it started repairing MSN Messenger which I haven't used in two years.

After it booted up the normal shortcut icons on desk top were gone; one of them was SmarterMail. 
I googled it, found the normal login screen, and logged in. It does not recognize my username and/or password. I have not changed it.
I used another laptop and successfully logged into my account at smarter mail using the same old username and password.
What's wrong with my laptop concerning smartermail?
