I have a problem with some mail deliveries to my SmarterMail Professional v5.5.3317 server.
The problem is timeout bounces.
An example:
My sending account is on an exchange server in the same network. This sends mail to our spam filter - an IronPort appliance. This then attempts to send the mail to our Smartermail machine, but gets a "5.4.7 - Delivery expired (message too old)" bounce.
I've set all log levels to max detail and read the logs but they don't even mention the connection/mail sending attempt in these cases,
However the accounts on the SmarterMail machine seems to receive mail from external sources without issues (unless the users have problems they aren't telling me about!).
Everything passes though the IronPort appliance. The config changes I've made in SmarterMail since install is mostly disabling anti-spam features. I want to handle that bit in my IronPort.
I've read that some timeouts are set rather low in SmarterMails default config. Which one might be interesting to try changing?
Any ideas?
