We have got a server and are going to upgrade and migrate information from the old Harddrive to the one.

Once I have setup all the email accounts on the new server can I just drop the Folders from the old harddrive into the new hardrive so all mail in those folders are migrated across as well?

Is there a way to get all email accounts and passwords from old harddrive?

Hope this makes sense, and all help would be grateful.

 Stop the mail services on the old mail server.

On the old server backup the following:

<drive>:\Program Files\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\Service\*.xml (config files)

<drive>:\SmarterMail (location of domains, logs, spool folders, etc.)

Copy these to the new server that has the same version of Smartermail installed.  if there is a change in drive letters <paths>, IP addresses, etc, be sure and make these changes in your config files.

Start mail services of new server.

Some of the smartermail accounts for customers have got folders in so will all those folders be copied as well or will we need to go into there accounts and set them up again.

Yes all the emails and other settings will be copied over.

Just being reading around and as we are moving to a new server, I have noticed that there is a 14 day limit before the Smartermail License Fraud kicks in. Our move is going to take longer then that it will take us till about middle August.

Can this 14 days be altered and what is Smartermail License Fraud Detection?
