    Review Customer Portal Re-Skinnging

    Hello,

I just got finished Re-Skinning the Customer Portal to match my CORP website. It wasnt all that difficult. Just had to dig for awhile and find everything. Created a brand new them based on the skinning guide. All i change in the NEW theme is the Customer Portal. So the Admin Interface is the same as before. Please take a look here: http://www.TJNetworksInc.com and click on "SUPPORT PORTAL" at the bottom. The portal really has no data in it at this point. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    TJ Havens

This is one of the sharpest Customer Portals I have seen skinned.  I design the skins for our products and I think you did a great job.   Have you considered designing a new Live Chat status icon?  Once created, you can change the image from within the Settings/System Settings/Advanced Settings area in the Managment interface (the page is called Live Chat Links).   One other thing I noticed is the footer menu is missing on the support portal page.  Good work!

I reskinned my Customer Portal to match the look and feel of my main website. Check it out... http://support.servupro.com.

However, despite the fact that I have selected my custom skin in Settings -> System Settings -> General Settings, if the user is using Firefox as their browser, they get the Horizon skin... not my custom skin. Do you now why this is happening? IE7 works correctly...

I just visited your support portal using Firefox and i can see your custom skin as expected. Maybe there is some caching issue and you can't see your custom skin?

Strange. What version of Firefox are you using? I'm using 3.0.9. I cleared my cache and still I see the Horizon skin...

Ok, I figured it out... Cookies were the issue, not the cache. Smile

    Re: Review Customer Portal Re-Skinnging

    Hello,

At the moment I can see how you can select the default skin in general settings, however what I can't find is how do you set a custom skin by Brand?

For example I want to use host headers so that each of our different sites can be supported through one system and use the Branding to manage the skin. I am sure it can be done via the system settings however I don't see where. Or is the only way to achieve this functionality to modify the skin itself and have the skin look at the headers presented?

    regards,

    Matt
