Over-the-air sync can't be as difficult as I've seen. Somebody tell me I'm doing something stupid and show me the error of my ways.
I am using MS Outlook 2007, and I have a Blackberry Curve. They're going up against a SmarterMail Enterprise 5.5.
My goal is to sync calendar, notes and contacts with SmarterMail.
I didn't see any step-by-step instructions. SmarterToold has a PDF, but it didn't keep me from running agound. Here's what I did--
When I pointed the Curve at that page, it downloaded application code to the blackberry. So far, no errors.
The first time I tried this, I just launched the "BlackBerry PIM Plug-in." On the BlackBerry, I made the following settings--
server: http://mail.mydomain.com
user name: myRegularLogin@mydomain.com
user password: myEmailPwd
Security notices flew every which way. I did have connectivity privs, so I deleted the application from my BlackBerry Curve and went back to the *.jad page a funambol. The application downloaded again. This second time, I set every priv I could find to "allow," and the error message changed. This time it was--
Error 400. Bad request.
That's an HTTPD error. I recognize it.
Can anybody spot where I messed up? Even better: does anybody know of any actual instructions for setting up over-the-air sync?
Thanks.
