I initially missed the release of this beta, but I'm very glad with the new sync feature:

I tested with the Funambol client (http://www.funambol.com/PPC), and so far it is much more efficient than the native ST Sync tool (only seconds if no items changed) and also supports scheduling!

 

 Of course it is fast. It doesn't sync email

Have you ever tried syncing contacts/calendar with the old sync?
It is extremely slow (even if nothing changed).

I am really happy with SyncML, many times faster! Done in a few seconds.

 Will it sync over https?

 the ST sync does not sync over https?
