I am just trailing smartermail and am having an issue with duplicated messages appearing in my inbox.

It is set up to do POP3 retrieval from my ISP which is working without any problems.

The problem starts when I connect via Outlook 2003 using IMAP.

When a new message comes in and is downloaded to Outlook, within the inbox it is duplicated with one of the messages marked as deleted,  

 Is there a setting I have misconfigured somewhere?

 UPDATE.   Noticed that the additional mails appear to be scanned by AVG within outlook as the raw header of the mail has been altered.

 

There is nothing in SmarterMail that would cause messages to become duplicates like you describe. I would advise turning AVG off for a little while to see if that could be it. If it is not the problem, the next step would probably be to analyze your IMAP logs to try and identify where those messages are coming from.
