sync not installing -

    sync not installing -

    I have Outlook 2003 (11.8010.8107) SP2 and have ran the sync installer from my web client but I do not note any new tool bar or sync options in Outlook.

     Any tips .. and where should i see the add in appear?

    Same thing here. Running WinXP (h) with Office 03  SP2. I have installed it before on a different machine without any problems. Now when I install without Outlook running, and restart -nothing appears. I've tried many timess, installed, uninstalling, restart; etc. I have disabaled all firewall protection and virus software -not sure what would be stopping it.

     nphoenix -what you should see is up on your standard tool bar, 3 new icons for sync

    I would also check to see if it is available in the Views menu as well.

     I had it running, in a desktop and in a notebook. Then it stop running in the desktop; sync menu disapeared.

    Crystaltech hosting support inform me that it was a known issue with outoolk 2003. To remove it and then install the outlook 2000 sync program also available.

    But it did not work, trying in every posible way, rebooting windows, outlook, etc. I can see here that is a bug that comes grom 2006 at least, and smart could not solve it.

    I agree that there is a problem with SM Sync because I have a client that has it, however, just so others might know, I do have it successfully installed on a Vista (with all updates) and Office 2007 Premium SP1. So far, it works fine.

    This has been a known problem for an extremelt long period of time. Why can't Smarter Mail get it resolved?????

    My web site is hosted with CrystalTech and through them I have access to SmarterMail Enterprise Edition Version 4.3.2981.  The first time I downloaded Smarter Mail Sync (my system is XP-Pro, Outlook 2003) everything worked as it should have and I could sync the respective calendars.  That's at least two months ago now and not only doesn't the sync work anymore, but removing the software and starting over many times hasn't worked either.  CrystalTech support services was stumped and sent me to SmarterTools --- looks like I'm not the only one with this problem! 

    Does CrystalTech have to update the enterprise version it offers (from 4 to 5) in order to possibly provide the fix?

    Does anyone from SmarterTools ever check-in to this forum to comment on the problem we are having?

    I don't think so, GFL. I've had the same problem as you (same environment too) and reported it to Crystal Tech. CT contacted SmarterMail. Their tech support did indeed contact CT and provided a fix for that problem. So, what's the problem? The fix doesn't work. At least not for my clients.
