Mail classified incorrectly as trusted sender (SPAM mailer pretends to be a local user)

We are using SmarterMail Enterprise 5.5.3362.

Someone sends us spam pretending to be LocalUser@OneOfOurDomains.com. Smarter Mail gives a total spam weight of 0 to the message. The message as (Trusted Sender).

Options 1. Disable spam filtering on intra-domain email & 2. Disable spam filtering on SMTP whitelisted IP Addresses in Anti-Spam Administration are both unchecked.

Is this a bug? Anyone else encountering these issues? How can we make sure that anti-spam rules are being run on messages like this?

The MAIL FROM command that was sent spoofed that email address. It is listed in the Trusted Senders of the domain or user. You will need to use inbound SMTP blocking with SPF to help mitigate this type of message. Or remove the email from the Trusted Sender.

Thank you. Issue resolved. The user had the trusted sender as himself. We had been looking in the domain settings, not the user.
