SyncML error

    SyncML error

    Hopefully this is the correct forum or is this for Smartermail sync only?

    anyway, i was hoping someone could explain the following error.

    client setup: Outlook 2007 with funambol outlook plugin 6.5.8

    Last error message = "HTTP request error: resource not found (status 404)"

    Is this the correct account location https://mail.xxx.xxx:443/Sync/Default.aspx

    I also have tried toggling the Enable Encryption checkbox.

    If i go to the above URL with my browser, I get Unsupported protocol. (which is not too surprising)

    anyhelp would be great!

     You are setting HTTPS and 443?

     Try it with only HTTPS, as the default port for it is 443, anyways.

    I tried that and i got the same error. I put the 443 in because their default had the port defined in it.

    I am showing no denies on any of my firewalls, so I am assuming that the SyncML server is "proxied" through that web page.

    Another piece of information is that it immediately knows if put in the wrong password and does not come up with the "buy me" box.

    I have not rebooted the server since upgrading last night, but i have restarted the iis service. I will try that tonight.

    I would open a support incident for this issue (as long as you are the SmarterMail license holder).

    To make it even a stranger issue, it works on my pc at home using the same versions of software. Office 2007, visata x64 ultimate sp1, and funambol 6.5.8

     Perhaps it is a firewall issue.

    version 7.0.7 resolved the my problems!

     Thanks! Can confirm it fixed it for me too :)

     (oh and one quick question - if I set the client to auto-sync every 15 minutes, so I need to keep the client always open / minimized - or can I close it and it will syn in the background)

     To answer my own question :) It does it in the background without you even noticing!

    Are you saying that the plugin syncs even with Outlook closed?

     Sorry, I misworded that. I mean you don't need to keep the Funabol client window open to sync, just Outlook.

    Once the Funabol client is installed, it just works - transparently :)
