[BUG] v5.5 reply/forward button doesn't always work

    [BUG] v5.5 reply/forward button doesn't always work

    After upgrading to the 5.5 release I notice that when previewing a message (bottom pane) and hitting the "reply" or "reply all" or "forward" buttons I often have to try 1-5 times before the click will actually take effect and reply to the message. There's some kind of focus problem or something going on. It's a very noticable bug and I immediately noticed the problem.

    I've been using SM for a couple years now. I would consider this bug of great importance and a point release should be delivered asap. Not being able to reply to messages is very important and I'm sure support calls will begin pouring in on Monday. The other links and print button appear to work fine and the same as they did in v5.0

    Note: The problem doesn't seem to exist in FireFox, only in IE7. The machine is running Windows XPSP2.

    Any word on this most annoying bug? Two different computers both behaving this way.

    This may be related.....I have noticed in most browsers that the 3D focus feature of the toolbars is not working properly.  The first icon you hover over turns 3D, any other icons after that do not turn 3D. Until the page is reloaded.

    I don't notice that specific issue, but I'm sure not everyone is seeing my issue either or there would be more posts here. What's frustrating is that ST doesn't spend much on these forums any longer....so you have no idea if ST is actively looking to fix a bug or not, you'd think they'd be trying to gather more information as we're obviously not making these things up.

    The reason we haven't been spending as much time on the forums recently was HostingCon and getting new versions of all three of our products released. Preparing for that had everyone so busy we didn't have any time to spend on the forums. Now that it's over and done with we're getting back into our normal routine. 

    In any case, this bug is the same one that occurs on the login page help button. If you click the text, the link works, if you click the image, it does not. Also, this only occurs if you choose to not open compose/replies in a new window. And it only occurs in IE as far as I know. We're aware of it and it's on our bugs list. Sorry if you felt like we were ignoring you.

    As a reminder, if you open a ticket with us, you'll get a guarunteed response and a resolution to your issue. If it is a bug, it's free. Also, you can email bugs@smartertools.com and suggestions@smartertools.com and these start tickets that get sent to the project leads. You aren't guarunteed a response to these tickets, though, but we'll always ask for more info if it's needed to replicate the bug.

    Thanks for the reply ST. All I mostly care about is that you recognize the "annoying bug" and hopefully can fix it in a future release. I have to stress that pushing that "reply" button 10 times sometimes is horrible, I'm getting tendinitis in my clicker finger.... I'll change to pop-ups for now even though I don't really like them.

    You can stick with the other way as long as you remember to click on the word "Reply" rather than the icon.

    UEREKA, the word "reply" does work, the icon doesn't. The dozen times it was taking me to make it work was just me eventually clicking on the text link. This is a good work-around for now and some relief as I was starting to seriously lose it in frustration.
