Bayesian Filtering - Learning from folders.

    Hi people.

As far as i understand the filter learns from the SPAM and HAM folders.

I have setup an email address for users to forward messages that are spam but managed to "Wigggle" through SPAM Assassin. We then review the inbox and check that the messages forward are infact SPAM.

We were thinking of creating a script that then copys the messages into the SPAM folder after they have been checked.

However if a message is forwarded from mydomain.com, does this mean that the filter could blacklist or prevent legit messages from mydomain.com?

An example would be mailboxA@mydomain.com finds a SPAM message that has got through SPAM Assassin. The user forwards the email to abuse@mydomain.com.

The abuse@mydomain.com is reviewd and a script run to copy the messages into the baynesian SPAM folder in smartermail directory.

Will this then prevent messages from mailboxA@mydomain.com sending to another user on the same domain e.g. mailboxB@mydomain.com

    Thank you very much

    Embarrassed
