Spam and Content Filtering not working

    Spam and Content Filtering not working

    I am new to smartermail and am presuming that I have set something incorrectly as neither SpamAssassin or Content Filtering appear to be working for me.

     For SpamAssassin, it does not look like it is listening on the standard port  783, each time it starts, spamd is on a different port,  the output from netstat is

    127.0.0.1:2997         127.0.0.1:2998         ESTABLISHED     652
     [spamd.exe]

     TCP    127.0.0.1:2998         127.0.0.1:2997         ESTABLISHED     652
     [spamd.exe]

    How do I verify the installation and running of SpamAssassin, as I can't find anything in the config files or any log files.

     

    For content filtering, I have set up a filter, both at a domain and user level, to move any messages that have SPAM in the title to a folder that exists for the user.  Nothing is happening.  All mails coming in are via my ISP using POP retrieval. How do I check that the new messages are being processed by the filters.  I have set all the logfiles to detailed, but to an untrained eye this is not showing anything relating to the filters.
