    Spam Assassin Failure

I had another thread going, but i was afraid it was stale and this is a whole new tack to the problem.  I was posting a massive increase in spam issue, now i know why, i just don't understand what happened.  I checked my delivery logs starting the day i saw the problem start and it is littered with this error msg.  any clues?  i rebooted and restarted services...

Also, netstat reveals that nobody is listening at port 783.  and yes, the default of 783 is set for spam assassin in Smartermail.  No config changes done in months, but this started suddenly at 4:30am 4 days ago and has not stopped, even after reboot.

I have the same issues. My logs show that spamassassin has been declined. I wish they would update SpamAssassin that comes with SM to the latest edition so we could use the multi-thread feature.

I wish they would too - as customers can't they see that a big issue for us is SPAM

    Re: Spam Assassin Failure

I am the one that started this thread.  just wanted you to know that, first, no one ever came up with a direct answer to this issue.  I didn't want to diddle with installing SA separately, so i just reinstalled Smartmail and the problem went away.  coincidently, or not, ClamAV started posting the same exact errors after that.  i have separate virus checking, so i am not gonna sweat that one.

Spam is now 99.5% gone again.. thank you very much!!!
