Hello,

I was about to migrate from my Merak to SmarterMail, but the migration tool suddenly told me "Merak version 9.1.0 not supported by this tool".

So now, how do I import all accounts, settings, messages and so on from my Merak? Please advise...

I am also interested in this.  I have had just about enough with Merak and it's bugs.  But I have a lot of converting to do... So it would really be nice if the conversion application would support the latest version of Merak.  In fact, I running a beta of 9.2 I think.  So it would help if that was supported. 

 Anyway, any assistance is greatly appreciated.  I need reliable mail and groupware.

I've successfully solved the problem with Merak v9.1.0 by downloading the converter source code, putting a "9" on the line that checks the version number and rebuilding the solution. :)

This suggestion worked for me as well.  I was able to successfully run the conversion application. 

 I do have a question though.  I had to run the application on the Merak Server xx.xx.xx.17, Server A, and then I attempted to use UNC Paths to move the accounts and mails to the SmarterMail server at xx.xx.xx.10, Server B.  They are different machines. 

 Now that I have run the conversion I cannot see the changes I would expect to see, ie. domains and users on the new SmarterMail server.  Will the software not allow converting from one server to another?   Is there something else I should do to make sure this works properly?

 The conversions said they worked. 

 Any suggestions on using this tool properly would be appreciated.  Also, on the smartermail settings screen in the conversion application I used this type of UNC (Administrative Share) in all 3 spaces:  \\NewSErverName\C$\(Original Path Less the C:)

In other words the original path may have been: 

 C:\Program Files\SmarterMail

I made it:

\\NewServerName\c$\Program Files\Smartermail

 I received no errors but cannot see anthing in the Smartermail web admin.

 I have updated the source code and compiled downloads in the stickied post in this forum. They no longer check to ensure that Merak is running as version 8.
