    Domain Spam settings and Declude

    Hi,

I've got a small question regarding the Domain Spam Filtering options.  I'm running SmarterMail 4.3.2739 along with Declude.

I want to allow domain administrators to be able to change their domain's spam settings, using the "Domain Spam Filtering" settings.  However, I have noticed that above the list of Trusted Senders, it says that for these senders SmarterMail "will skip spam checking".

For various reasons, I need Declude to run on all emails, even if people can then choose to ignore it.  I know people can't change the score Declude gives, but to me "skip spam checking" means exactly that: Declude will never be run on emails from Trusted Senders.

Could somebody who knows please: -

    a) Either confirm or correct me on my assumption that emails from Trusted Senders will never have Declude run on them.

    and/or

    b) Tell me if they know a way to have SmarterMail run the Trusted Sender whitelist after spam checks, as you can do within Declude (or suggest some other solution).

    Thanks in advance!

    Mat

    Mat,

If Declude is implemented on the same server that users connect to to send/receive email, then SmarterMail will bypass Declude for trusted senders. The best way I can think of doing this is to set up another server as an SMTP gateway with SmarterMail Free Edition and Declude. For this setup to work, you'd need to add your domain(s) to the Domain Forwarding list and repoint MX to this server. With this, you can have Declude run independent of the other mail server.
