Computer name vs. Host name in SM

We're planning a network move (new DC) and are in the process of consolidating a few services to make it easier. One of the consolidations is moving our secondary DNS server to the same machine as one of our SM servers. This will require a change of the computer name in windows. Do I need to notify Smarter Tools of this change? As far as I can see our SM licence is tied to the host name entered in SM and a computer name change won't affect it. Does anyone know if I can go ahead with this and not affect my SM licence?

Not sure.  On my system my computer name IS my official host name.  You can always reset your license activation on your Smartertools account if need be.

Changing your computer name will require a reactivation of SmarterMail. You do not need to notify us, just go to the activation page (when you log in as admin, it should automatically take you there), and activate. Every couple of re-activations, you may need to login to your account on our site and increase your number of activations.

     Thanks James,

I have it figured out now. Very good to know as we will be moving SM again as we sort through this move.
