Limit number of to addresses - WebMail

I run smarter mail from my hosting service who has just switched to this system.  In the webmail, I cannot sent a message to a list with more than 40 people.  The hosting service says this is a "feature" to prevent spam, and I should send the message from my desktop client.  However, one of my email users cannot have a desktop client (she works in a place where they roam from computer to computer and can't install a personal email client).

Is this a hard and fast rule, or only the way the hosting service has configured Smarter Mail?  I would switch to another service, but the one I want also has smarter mail, and I might have this same problem.

We are not spammers.  We do run local community newsgroups.  One group has 53 members.  Another has 186.

     thanks, Judy

    Judy,

That is a feature in SM that the other provider may or may not have set.  (They should.)

For your purposes, you should consider one of the many newsletter applications out there.  They offer double opt-in and newsletter archiving, and a whole lot more.  Plus, since they send out each message individually, you won't have any problems.

However, with lists as small as yours, you would only have to send out 5 emails to cover your largest list in your current situation.

     Tex
