Options for SpamAssassin handling of externally forwarded mail

We have recently attempted to use the SpamAssassin client built into SmarterMail 4.3.2831. However, we have discovered some shortcomings that have driven us back to using SMSpamC instead. We have a lot of problems with users that turn on forwarding in SmarterMail. They receive spam at their domain, which forwards to, say, an AOL address. They mark it as spam at AOL. This process repeats until AOL puts our server on their blacklist.

SMSpamC greatly mitigated this problem, since it allows us to delete or quarantine messages based on their SpamAssassin scores, and messages forwarded externally can be handled differently than locally delivered ones.

This doesn't appear to be an option in SmarterMail 4. Are there any plans to implement special handling of externally forwarded messages with SpamAssassin? SMSpamC has served us well, but we have had some performance issues with it, and we would like to have tighter integration into SmarterMail.

    Thanks.
