This is the body of an email from one of my clients with the same issue:
"I am having a serious issue with the
Smarter Mail Sync and having trouble finding a resolution. It seems that it
doesn’t like group meeting requests. What happens is that if a meeting request
is accepted, it logs it into the Outlook calendar. Good--- until later… When I sync it duplictes and
duplicates these calendar events over and over. We finally stopped everyone
syncing with the calendar to try and clean that event off of everyone’s
caledner. Cant do it… The one we are having issues with at the moment is a Feb 1
conference call. I cleaned the appt off my clander (over 100 entries), then
logged into the web mail server and deleted the same entries off of that
calendar. Both calelnders were clean----yet when I synced----these 100+ event
entries came back… ?????????????"
To eliminate the issue, as a quick fix, I had to delte the user and re-establish that user to wip out the 100's (yes, there were 100's of dupes on one day) of dupliceted event listings.
In his case this seems triggered by acceptance of an invitaiton into Outlook that is later synched.
