Inquiry regarding SpamAssassin and commands within SM interface

I'm just curious as to what extent SmarterMail and SpamAssassin work together?

So far SA seems to be doing its job. I have, however, noticed a couple of emails that have been moved to the junk folder that I would prefer not to go there anymore. If we use the "Unmark as Spam" command in teh user interface (Webmail) is this now telling Smartermail (or SpamAssasin) to no longer mark these emails as junk? How exactly is that working?

i.e. On Windows Live Mail, if I mark something as "not junk" it will never see the junk folder again ... is that how it works in SM as well?

    Thanks in advance.

If you click not spam in SM, then it will train the SM Bayesian Filter, which you should no longer be using if you are using SA.  However, it should also add the sending address to that user's trusted sender's list, which should then bypass greylisting and spam checks.
