    Content filters and POP

We are utilizing SmarterMail through both webmail and clients like Thunderbird, Outlook and Mac Tiger Mail 2.

A problem appears to exist for those who utilize both webmail and an email client. Some of our employees prefer an email client when at the office and then use webmail away from the office.

If content filtering is used in webmail, sending messages to a particular folder, then it appears that those messages are not available for their POP3 client to get that same message. (Leave messages on server is default).

Is this how it should be? Or am I missing a setting.

Untimately, we want the webmail and email clients to look similar by being able to retrieve the same data. I know this would be the case with IMAP but we want webmail and POP.

Is there a way to have webmail content filtering and still be able to retrieve those emails through an email client?

     Thank You

    Re: Content filters and POP

Content filters are done when the mail is received at the server level.  If the filter puts the mail in a particular folder, then that mail will not be accessible for POP, since pop only accesses the Inbox.

I would suggest using IMAP, but you stated you need to use POP3.  To get by this, you can setup another email account in a client to get email out of a particular folder.  Lets say you have a folder named Folder1 in a particular user's account.  Add the pop account in your email client user+folder1@domain.com.  I think you may have to enable plus addressing for that user to make this work.
