1. Introduction (TOP)

The SmarterMail integration package for Ensim 4 allows Ensim users to control SmarterMail from their Ensim control panel. Many administrative functions are supported, with the exception of Mailing Lists, Spam Checks, and Domain Import/Export.

NOTICE: Please be aware that SmarterMail must be installed before running this integration. Also, the integration utility requires Microsoft.Net to be installed on the server.

2. Installation and Setup (TOP)

2.1. License

Before Unzipping and Installing this product, be sure to read the License Agreement (included with this software) carefully. By using the software, you also accept and agree to the License Agreement.

2.2. Unzip the software

Unzip the software to a temporary folder on your computer's hard drive.

2.3. Install Microsoft.Net

Your server must have the Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 installed before the integration will function. This is available through Windows Update on the server.

2.4. Run EnsimIntegration.exe

Run the EnsimIntegration.exe file by double-clicking on it. When it comes up, enter the URL to your SmarterMail interface, along with the system administrator login. Click on "Install/Update" to configure Ensim.

3. Troubleshooting (TOP)

If you are experiencing difficulty installing and running the software, please visit the FAQ and support section on our web site where a lot of questions are already answered. Some of the most common causes for errors are:

Microsoft.Net 1.1 - The integration requires the Microsoft.Net Framework 1.1 in order to function properly. The Microsoft.Net Framework 1.1 is available at http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/technologyinfo/howtoget/default.aspx.
