SmarterMail’s event-driven architecture is an ideal mechanism to minimize administrative oversight by
enabling the creation of powerful self-correcting measures, automatic protections, and notifications.
Individual users can be informed via SMS text message or email when a specific email arrives in their
mailbox, an appointment reminder has occurred, their mailbox is getting full, and much more.
SmarterMail can be configured to perform automated tasks based upon specific parameters. For
example, system administrators can use the mail server software’s event-driven architecture
to automate a variety of system tasks, including:
- Adding an IP block into the router when an intrusion is detected
- Disabling a domain or user based upon throttling thresholds
- Disabling a domain or user if they appear to be spamming
- Notifying administrators when a system configuration is altered
- Notifying administrators when a service is not responding
In addition, exposed Web services allow companies to automate administrative tasks,
reduce costs, and improve operational efficiencies.
