Applies to: SmarterMail (all versions)
Set up Trend Micro in the following way:
- Click Set Scan Option tab
- Check Enable Real-time scan
- Scan direction = Incoming
- Scan file type = All
- Scan options (leave at default)
- Scan compressed files = Checked
- Scan level = 5
- Advanced settings -> Leave default
- Click on Set Action
- Leave everything at defaults except the settings below:
- Customize scan actions - Set both to Quarantine (the second action for each should gray out)
- Set a quarantine directory and write it down
- Check the "Exclude this directory" checkbox below it.
- Scan type to be applied = real time scan
- Click on Apply
- Click on Apply
Set up SmarterMail 1.x and 2.x in the following way:
- Log in as the System Admin
- Go into Anti-Virus Administration
- Check the "Virus scanner enabled" box
- Enter the full path to the quarantine directory you specified in 9.3 above
- Change virus action to Delete and save
- Go into General Settings
- Change delivery delay to 20 seconds for a low-medium load server, 30 seconds for a high load server.
Set up SmarterMail 3.x, and above, in the following way:
- Log in as the System Admin
- Go into Anti-Virus Administration
- Check Virus scanner stores files in a quarantine folder
- Enter the full path to the quarantine directory you specified in 9.3 above
- Change virus action to Delete and Save
- Go to General Settings and Spool tab
- Change delivery delay to 15 seconds for a low-medium load server, 30 seconds for a high load server
